2000-D Cent

    These photos were taken through the plastic of a 2000 uncirculated mint set. I know the damage was done at the mint, but what caused it?

    can we see a pic of the whole 2000-D set ?

    I think I know what happened now. I think the edge of the coin got caught in the middle when the plastic was sealed. I wonder if it holds any premium?

    In this photo you can clearly see the "crinkle" in the seam that runs through the center.

    Clearly, at some point that bag was caught in SOMETHING. Some kind of sorting machinery or packaging machinery would be my guess.

    I'm sure you can get some money for it on ebay, maybe someone will buy it. To me it definitely looks like an after mint error meaning it happened at the mint but not during the minting process. :secret:
