$20 star note found in circulation

Folks here will remember that i never had a coin find in 7 years of roll searching so I had practically given that up. Today at work i withdrew some money and got a $20 star note. the note is in extra fine condition 1996 series. Hooray looks like the drought is finally over. The note may not have much value but its a find for sure. I just thought i would share it with everyone

I keep looking at every bill I get hoping to find my first star note. I hope your luck has changed for the better and you mind many more cool coins or bills in circulation.

I received 2 $20 star notes in the last week from the ATM machine,i'm starting to think they are not as rare as we are led to believe,or i've been extreamly lucky.

 

Nice find! Try looking through rolls of halves now, see how much you could find. Maybe you'll find one soon, USS656, I found a $1 the other day that was my first one. I have my bank looking through and keeping any that they find. And they also let me look through there money once a week. So I have a pretty good chance at finding more. Maybe you could ask your bank to look for you to. Just a suggestion.

ok i am emboldened now as soon as i have 2 $rolls in the bag with the new president i will get 20$ worth of half dollars to see where i end up maybe lightening will strike twice

 

i found 4 stars since june. thats an average of 2 a month! their only $1 bills though. still stars! good luck on finding your first one! it is very thrilling finding a star note.

 

First Star Note

Just went looking for some stamps for envelopes in my wife's purse. She had 7 or 8 ones laying out so I thumbed through them. About five into them there was this. She was watching me and was like - what - when my eyes got a little big. I know it's not worth much but a cool find anyways.

Thae neat thing about the one you found USS656, it has all the numbers, 0-5 in the serial. Just an interesting tidbit. Have you had anymore luck lately spock?

I have several of these star notes ($1s and $5s) saved over the years. Are they really worth anything?
I heard some story that they were 'error corrections'

 

yep, threre worth over face! when a bill or sheet of bills get damged while they are making them, they reuse that bills serial number but put a star at the end of the serial number. keep them, there pretty rare.

 

If you collect too many * notes, you won't have any money left for coins. They tie up too much face value.

 

No i diversified in the prez dollars and that has got me nothing
