At my coin club the other night, I bid $20 on 20 BU Susan B. Anthony dollar coins in 2x2's, all in a notebook page for 2x2's. So, I got them for face, and got the plastic notebook page for 2x2's for free. I haven't collected these and will probably just spend them. Anyone have any other ideas for me (other than looking for the wide rim).
Good for you bobbeth!! See I tell ppl all the time to check out their local coin clubs. Heck the fun alone is worth it and there's auctions and coin shows and the whole coin and flip to boot.
Oh, keep them and give them to your grandchildren as presents so they can have possibly the least sought after coin in US history. On the positive side good score for face value plus holders and sheets. Yes, I do collect them when I can get them for face value.
nice pickup. about 6 months ago at work a customer came in with a mint bag of $100 worth of SBA's that were all nicely golden toned from the bag. i grabbed a couple of them:thumb:
Nice pick up Bob, never hurts to get something for face value...even if it is really ugly And you got the page and the 2x2's for free Seems to me like you did alright :thumb:
I've decided to keep 2-3 of the best ones and spend the rest. This is just such an ugly coin. But for face, nothing lost....
The only thing lost was the time and care it took the original owner to find all 20, place them in 2x2's with loving care and possibly gloved hands. Carefully, he inserted them into the album pages and spent hours enjoying his collection. So much time, effort and care gone in moments for a Slurpee, a pack of HoHo's and a 40 ounce Budwiser at the local 7-11. A moment of silence please.
