This 20$ Hawaii note is the latest addition to my collection.
Now that i have the 20$ and the 1$ i'm thinking of getting the whole set.
Does anyone know if they made these in the 100$ denomination?

Hawaii overprint notes came in $1(Silver Certificate), $5, $10, and $20(Federal Reserve Notes)-the $5 is the expensive one. The other WWII special currency, North Africa notes, come in $1, $5, and $10 Silver Certificates, and the $5 is also the expensive one.

I have the three North Africa notes, though the $5 is not as nice as I would like. I still need to get the $5, $10, and $20 Hawaii to complete that set.

Just wondering how much the five$ north african cost you and what is the general condition?
I need to get it to complete the set.

It is in about Very Good condition, with a couple of rust spots on it. It has no tears or bad corners, and cost $29.00 on eBay. Better ones run $40.00 and up, depending on condition. Unc $5s go well into triple digits (both Hawaii and N. Africa).

Your $20 looks to be a high VF, clean looking, maybe an XF lite. A nice note!

Thanks BZ,i'm still trying to get a grasp on guessing currency grades.
I know some of the things to look for include-crispness,centering,color ,corner sharpness, stains, folds etc etc.
My spending rule for notes is the same as for coins ie:if it's more than $100s
"it must be certified".(except for gold)

Currency grading on Ebay, and at my local coin shows, seems to be a free-for-all. I see raggedy notes described VG-F etc. I am not an expert on currency, but I have a fair sense of grades. You could sell this as XF no problem on Ebay. I look on Ebay to see pics of CGA and other TPG`s notes as a benchmark.
