One of the coins I have on my want list is the 1881 S $20 Liberty, why ? On October 26, 1881 that was the shoot out at the O.K Corral, when Silver was discovered in 1877 many from San Francisco and the surrounding areas migrated south to find there fortune in Tombstone, AZ, I have personally been there twice 23 years ago and again about 7 months ago, though this time was able to take in the reenactment of the shoot out, its a very interesting place and I highly recommend you visit. I was really excited that APMEX had a 1881 S in stock heres the coin in question it has a few issues that kind of turn me off
This coin might work for me but the rub by the eye is for sure a major distraction along with allot of scratching on the reverse.
That chit will buff right out Ok nevermind, I think they got the grade right but the obverse is weaker than the reverse...but hey for 142 years old if priced right?
I actually like the A/U grade, I have found many that look better then M/S especially 60-62 little bit better luster but really nicked up ! I like a coin that is pleasing on the eyes regardless of grade.
I think I could stomach it if did have that distraction by the nose, maybe if I offered a tissue it could be wiped off...LOL I think it was around $ 2,300 So I bought a 2020 Krugerrand instead
Very nice coin! If I had $2,300 to blow on a coin than I would be very interested in this coin. I think the coin and price is moderately valued.
You guys are trying to convince me...LOL, keep it up and I might just buy it ! population vs price point its actually pretty good
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the coin is a decent piece at a good price heres what I am looking for on my past purchase to give you an idea as a comparison.
