What is a $20.00 stare note worth and what site will be the best site to sell it?

I dont see an error. Star notes are produced to replace errors, so are not errors themselves. Unless its a small print run and uncirculated, they often dont have much value over face.

Your note has an obvious crease on the center and stains in several places.
    It's only worth face value......$20.00.
On the good side, it's what is called a "flip" note, though a minor one.
Turn the note upside down and you can still read a number.
If you were to put it on eBay, and focus attention on the * and the "flip" , you might get an extra couple of bucks for it.
Good Luck !! and Welcome to Coin Talk !!

Hi Iiwii , keep an eye on that auto correct spelling checker. It'll wreak havoc on your posts if you're not careful. I look back on what I'm writing every few words because of it.
And remember that eBay has fees for using their site.

With the stains and that crease it's only worth face value. Condition is everything in paper money. Especially the newer bills. You star note dies not contain any errors that so can see. The star notes are used to replace bills that are defective at the BEP.

I find so few star notes in circulation that I just keep them in my binder. None of them are in good condition and none are worth above face, but it's just a personal hobby of mine to set them aside.

I've forayed into selling paper money on eBay and it's usually not worth the time and effort.

Remember that there is a 10% selling fee, a 3% PayPal fee, a $0.30 PayPal minimum transaction fee, and $0.50 postage for a First Class envelope.

A $20.00 bill will need to sell for at least $24.00 to be able to make any amount at all (this sale would net you around $0.08 in profit)

Realistically, you'd need to close a sale at around $26.00 to make it even remotely worth your time and effort.

I also collect them, and just keep some that I find, depending on their condition.
I'll upgrade the notes in my collection as I find better ones. I particularly like groups of * notes in sequential order. For example I have 9 $5 * notes in sequence, all but 1 in perfect CU condition. The one somehow got a bent corner.
I work a part time retail job since I retired from the engineering field. When I find a * note that I don't want, I give it to a customer and talk to them about it and about coin and currency collecting. I encourage them to start collecting and to visit Coin Talk !! and join in our discussions.

Yes, you are correct, Sir, about eBay. eBay is not designed nor meant to help sellers make profits.

Although, if you are a smart shopper, you can find some good deals there.

Postage has gone up. It's not 50 cents.
