first is an easy one. i need help deciding if this barber quarter should go in the silver bucket or if its worth keeping/selling? its a 1914-D. second is an 1927-S cent. just trying to see if someone can give me an idea on grade. i know it won't be exact, because the pictures are not great. but just an idea...
it just upsets me. they were given to me by my girls step father and he had them in some big bag. i bet that hurt the coins pretty bad. i can't really complain because somehow the 1899 $10,$20 gold liberty's came out perfect! there is a standing liberty quarter that is in good shape except the year is gone(probably my favorite non gold coin) and over 20 buffalo's that are good except the year gone. i wish i could get the years back! thanks for the input..
yea, a few have some D's and i think either 2-3 have the S. one of the friscos is nice too. it looks like someone really just rubbed the date off..
thanks i will try it. how long? and will it damage them( i guess that is stupid considering the state the coins are in now)?
I would leave them in for several days checking for the date to return. When the vinegar starts turning blue its time to change it. The blue means the vinegar is losing its potency. Some of the more worn coins will take alot longer...
Hi ya, I'd keep the Barber quarter...it seems the Barber coins really took a beating over time....I'd call that cent G to VG. But the photo looks a bit blurred. I didnt know about the vinegar..thats great...I'll have to try myself, thank you
