I've been staring at photos of silver coins with crosses on them for a bit now and I'm thinking that cross looks a lot like crosses from the Holy Roman Empire...

First one looks English or Irish in type. Though may not be genuine, or very severely cleaned.

If you can make out the letters, just type a coin's legends into a Google search:

"IOANNES V D G PORT ET ALG REX LXXX"

João V (John V) of Portugal Dei Gratia Portugal and Algarves King LXXX (80?)

I couldn't find yours, but I found this useful and saved it for another day. http://www.ancientresource.com/lots/medieval.html

Also, what about Hungary for that first coin? And I completely agree google as many of the letters as you can read on the coin.

The first coin reads +IOhANNES DVX / +BRITANIE ("John, Duke of Brittany"). A similar piece on VCoins is attributed to John the Red, 1237-1286.
