2 strange roman coins

    I am not planning on selling these coins I just want to find out something about them..

    I'd look for the first (possibly) in Julio Claudian Provincials and the second (certainly) in Adoptive empresses. Closer ID will require comparison with similar coins with more detail. Sabina, Faustina, Augustus, Tiberius - all these people can get confusing when you go down to G and below.

    Looks close with a portrait facing the other way but still could be Augustus or a relative for what I see. You did well finding this match. I would now look for other examples that might confirm the portrait.

    Been looking for the first coin for a while lol...

    If you know who it is can you at least tell me if it is a emperor or empress?


    The reverse looks kind of similar to the first picture but I am not very good at researching and probably wrong.

    any chance it was minted in spain??

    The top one looks like a beat to death, and maybe worse than that, mercury dime. You should post it on the Merc thread!:devil:
