I know this note is really beat, but for $10 I had to grab it for the low # & STAR
When I removed it from the sleeve it was as limp as toilet paper.

i wouldn't pay $10 for that note. more like $5. still a nice note though.

Coinlover, that 1928 $2 Star is probably a scarce item,so I reckon that $10 is a bargain. How often does one see a U.S. $2 note that old? Not very often,I would imagine. You are more likely to see the 1976 Independence Bicentenary one & the ones issued since 1995 in circulation these days.

Very nice! Not a bad price either.

Hope they picked a winner with it...

Just as a little tid-bit, if that's a pinched-off corner bottom-left, this note could very well have circulated at the racetracks (they did that for good luck).

i heard about that somewhere, can't really tell what caused it though.

    Howdy Silver surfer...

Is that a 1928 G Series?? The note list's for $55 in VF and up to $450. in CH CU.
I think it is worth $10 bucks...keep it. FR# 1508-* I do not think it would grade out at VF but for $10 bucks... no damage done.

They were popular at the racetracks because the mutuels are all in terms of $2-pays. Could be a lot of these pinched ones were removed from circulation at the first opportunity because of the obvious damage, and that's why you don't see too many around, anymore. Your star note has just a minor pinch, and so probably escaped detection... ;)

Yes 1928 G series and I would have to say it would grade no better than Good.
It has some pen marks and stains along with the missing corner; I’m still thinking it's worth the 10 bucks
    Because of the star.
Hard to determine an accurate value with paper as opposed to coins.
Or as the moderators would tell us "it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it".
