    Well on top of all my Comonwealth I also picked up these two nice little coins :thumb:

    1917 10pf Iron
    1917 10pf Zinc

    Steve,do you know which mintmarks are on those 10 Pfennig coins? You can find them on the obverse below the eagle.

    Don't think that aluminum is involved here ... The one with the big dots around the eagle is from (sherardized) steel; the other one is a zinc coin. This second type has no mint marks by the way.

    The only aluminium coin that was issued under the Kaiser was the 1 Pfennig of 1916-18.

    I've got one of those old 10 pfenning (Fe) pieces. Mine was struck in FrankFurt I think. Very nice examples of the Kaiser's pocket change... :D

    The ones dated 1919-22 are actually Weimar Republic issues,even though they depict the Kaiser's Coat-of-Arms.
