Maybe @panzerman is rubbing off on me. I don't typically buy much gold but my normal collecting interests have been seeing significant price increases. The first 1 a 1915 dated Austrian 4 Ducat. It is a later restrike but still cool. I picked it up at auction from one of the big auction houses and managed to only pay $50 over spot. Franz Joseph I gold Restrike 4 Ducat 1915 MS67 Cameo ANACS, KM2276 The 2nd one is more interesting to me. Same auction. Ottoman Empire. Abdul Hamid II gold 100 Kurush AH 1293 Year 31 (1905/1906) AU58 NGC, Constantinople mint (in Turkey), KM730. AGW 0.2127 oz. Feel free to pile on with anything you like, especially old gold purchased at near spot price.
The Austro-Hungarian AV 4 Dukaten are beautifull beyond words. Hope you get some golden wildmen Here is my 1848 AV 4 Dukaten Ferdinand V 1835-48 Picked up this FDC ex. from Spink USA auction for $5000US + fees! However, I had passed on three from Rauch/ Fruhwald auctions. Prices were up in 14-18K for fast st. grade. The Spink one was a steal.
