Your opinions on these two Kennedy Half Dollars. The first is a die crack?

Is the 2nd pre mint or post mint damage? Thanks.

The first one is just a die crack The second looks like post mint damage there are burns and bubbling on the surface some body took a stove top to it or something of that nature, and the red looks like nail polish,

I agree on the first one, a common die crack. The second one I do not believe to be pmd. The reverse design is not distorted. IDK what it is, but do not think it to be post mint damage. Maybe a weird lamination or strike through???

Looks like a struck through that my daughter got a hold of with a magic marker.Looks like some crimping marks from a roll on the reverse.I hate when you find a decent error and there are crimp marks on it from a roll.Kinda blows any possible grade right out.But the magic market did that anyway.

I don't know why, but when I search through half dollars, I find red marks like this a lot as well as blue ink on the eyes. I don't see that on other coin denomination, but sure do with halfs.......weird.

So, we're not sure about the 2nd one yet....

Looks like it could have been struck with debri on the die. So I will say a struck through.

Look at the obverse a little closer this was put to a flame there's evidence of a burnt look on this coin with bubbles on the fields on the reverse and obverse post mint damage and the red is post mint danage so the coin is destroyed no matter what. The coin has it own both sides it's not a strike thru a burnt bubbleing coin

Not knowing what came between the coin and the die, whether it be cloth, leather or some other foreign material, I still say strike thru.

I would say some bored kid got to this coin he first decided to put red nail polish on it then he decided to burn the thing a little, black indication of burning on the coin and bubbles

A die strike on both sides of the coin is extremely rare so it;s more likely this coin was tampered with and the red polish mark just indicates the steps this kid took to damage this poor little Kennedy halve dollar

Lets look at the odds a obverse and a reverse strike thru which is extremely rare and I never seen one ,or millions of bored kids that have nothing to do,but to tamper with a coin and destroy it.

Pick the right answer please, and you will win a paid vacation to the North pole
