Hello and welcome to my 64,000 likes celebration thread Thanks to @Cheech9712 for that like to reach this goal Today I want to share two NGC attributed Mint Errors from my collection. Both are Incomplete Planchets aka 'Curved Clip'. They are named that way because they appear clipped, but they are never actually clipped at any time. Curved Clips (error-ref.com) (I might have shown these many years ago but for the viewing pleasure of many of the new members I consider this a throwback thread) Slab #1 25C - 1965 Slab #2 25C - 1966 with 2 Mint Errors I really hate the Wheel Mark designation In a little over a week, I will be celebrating my birthday. So, I will be posting some Mint Errors from 1971.. My birthyear
So a blank was punched out in the strip and the next punch overlapped that hole in the strip that that prior punch left. By golly, I think I get it.
Are you asking me or are you asking Mark? Here you go.. https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/4412/wheel-marks/#:~:text=Wheel marks are a concentrated, the surface of the coin.
Yes! Here's a neat diagram. They areas in grey would be the incomplete planchet error and the corresponding name is near it.
Very nice errors Paddy. I don’t have a Quarter with a curved clip so since you have 2 it would be nice if you shared one with me. Lol Your mint error collection never ceases to amaze me.
Who like those like, Me I ignore. To much time to spend if it is genuine or not. The Nickel I see without close pic do not seem to be legit even it is certify. Gustibus non disbutandus.
Really buddy? Incomplete Planchets are very easy to attribute. I'm sure NGC got it right. I don't know why you would give such a strange opinion.

ok.. please explain. Why you think the NGC certified nickel doesn't look right. I do know about the Blakesly Effect so if that's one of your effects to look for. But you must know that the smaller the incomplete curve the less of the effect it will have.
And the Smith effect?? And also Happy birthday!!! More informations behind the 5 normal points of the Clip: https://www.error-ref.com/blanking-and-cutting-errors/
That's great information. But I really don't care for your comment that you made "The Nickel I see without close pic do not seem to be legit even it is certify".. there was no need for your opinion when the Nickel was attributed as a legit mint error.
