Yes, friends. Post here all European Union 2 euro € commemorative coins from your countries. Beginning, last minted on change (not sale - roll for nominal) monday 6th February Spanish 2017 Santa Maria del Naranco Church. Mintage: 4 millions coins https://moneditis.com/2017/02/08/2-euros-cc-conmemorativos-espana-2017-santa-maria-del-naranco/
Will definitely get that one. Partly because I visited the church (and also the cathedral in downtown Oviedo, plus San Miguel de Lillo) a while ago, partly because I collect those €2 commems anyway ... This year the World Money Fair started on Fri 3 Feb, and as usual that was also the day of first issue for the German piece (from the "German States" series). The 2017 coin honors Rhineland-Palatinate, and shows the Porta Nigra in Trier. More about the coin is here (Official Journal); below is a photo that shows the five issues (one from each mint). Usually I get just one, regardless of the mint, but at the WMF one distributor gave loose sets away at face. The "Ch" initials refer to the designer František Chochola, the large "D" at the bottom is short for Germany. The European Commission has a list of €2 commems; currently they have 247 issues there. I have most of them (tend to skip Monaco though ...), and with 23 euro countries, each of them entitled to issue two commems per year, things get a little unwieldy. Christian
Absolutely, Christian! Too many coins...On the other hand, it is nice to learn something from that country through each coin

Great piece, will soon have that too! As for the design, what I find so impressive about the city walls is that they are so long; depending on where you stand, you can see many more towers. So a few more might have looked better on the coin. But of course each of them would have been smaller then ... Christian
