OK, here's a real minor error note I got from the bank this past week. It's extremely minor, but the district number 2 barely impedes on the design in the upper right. Also, here's a pic of a $2 star note I picked up this week. Do you guys think it's a keeper?? (imagine that question with a real sly smile).
I personally love all stars, so I would keep that. Then again, I just started paper money collecting, so I love all notes that are before 1995. On the top note, the green seal looks off-centered to me
The green seal, the federal reserve seal, the district numbers (2) are all part of the third printing. The third printing (aka overprint) is shifted a little to the right and ever so slightly up. Just enough for the upper right district number to touch the design. If nothing in the overprint is touching anything that it's not supposed to, then I toss it back in circulation. I have already added this one to the binder in the safe.
Not only are the 2's out of line the black/green federal reserve seasl is raised and slightly right as well.... It is a keeper for sure! If you were to gage it from a Gem note you will see all the shifts easily! Thanks for sharing this with us... Nice note!! RickieB
