    Howdy Darryl and Phoenix...
I hope this message finds you both doing well.
Phoenix, Darryl's assumption is correct, it is my most sincere goal to purchase notes that are CHCU or better and while most images I show are croped to cut out the holder, 92% of my collection is graded by PCGS,CGA or PGM for the notes and few are less than CHCU. All my gold, platinum and silver coins are graded by PCGS, except the raw coins I get from the mint over the years.
You both are aware that I have a young son, AJ and that my efforts to build this collection is dedicated to him. One day I will no longer be able to guide him and provide direction so I hope this collection will perhaps help him when he gets to be a young man and starts his own professional life and family.

I hope that I do not come across as an eccentric or prudish, but this is my goal. It is not a self fulfilling ego trip to have the best, however, it is the best that I can do while I am here on this Earth. The best part of the whole thing is not investing the cash to acomplish this, but to interact with people like yourselves and learn from such a diverse group of fine folks that visit this site. Life is so short, the time we are here is a flash compared to what you can do to enhance anothers life. To be remembered for what you have done is greater than the deed itself. I hope my son continues what I have started as he moves forward in his life after mine. I hope I have many years with him to enjoy what I started long ago in hopes of having my son one day.I look forward to growing old and seeing a fine young man grow from a silly child.

    Best regards,

    RickieB

i think your intentions are very honarable! one thing, what your do or buy does not make your eccentric or prudish IMHO but the additude one has while doing what you do. You are nothign like an eccentric person, and i doubt you even could be if you tried :)

What I sent in the Christmas card was the only one that's not a star note. It was part of a run my head teller friend gave to me when I asked for some crisp $2's. Glad you like it Rickie!

As far as your goals I think it's great and I see nothing wrong with the way you collect!

I often think I should collect in the same manner. I have slowed down on just buying anything but I like for now the very small investments in a wide variety of coins. This gives me some exposure to a to many coins that often have different issues. I so much appreciate a good coin when I see one after looking at some of these lower value coins. I hope this method of starting out will help me to gain knowledge without losing my shirt. I believe that eventually I will have the same goal to go after the higher end coins and currency that I really desire to collect.

    Best Regards,

    Darryl

Do not want to get sappy or anything, but THAT is what makes your collection so beautiful Rickie. :thumb:
