Is this from grease filled dies die deterioration or over polishing ? or is it just normal wear and tare for a dime? I noticed there where a lot of coins that where similar but thees 2 where by far the worst.
That is from a greased filled die grease gets on the die and obstructs the element on certain areas of the coin and that is the result of it it could happen any where on the coin ,and also not effect other elements on the coin as well. Billy
after searching a box of dimes i found a lot more like this most not this obvious but still this seams to be an extremely common assurance with dimes.
