The first is a 2001 Vermont quarter that appears to be a grease error, judging by the word "UNITED" almost completely missing while the rest of the coin may be an AU. The second, if it is not PMD, looks to me like a result of a die that was a zombie by the time this coin was made. I am unsure if 1985 dimes have problems with die deterioration, as I'm not big on Roosevelts past silver, proofs, and toners. What are your thoughts?
That's what I thought on that 2001 Vermont. I generally don't do quarters, but that one caught my eye for some reason. That'll be the first, and probably the last, Vermont quarter I 2x2 for a while! Here's the dime.
What does the 3rd side look like. Could be broad struck and could be just a heavily deteriorated obv die.
Now I do, but this is the type of coin that I think "what happened to this?". The real question is: since this is a kind of odd coin, caused by a shot die, could this command a small premium?
The reverse die shows its fair share of DD, might be worth a couple bucks to the right buyer. Someone that is studying the dies and pairings. Two examples of the same die pairing would probably bring you a $20 bill. It's a neat coin.
