hey guys I recently came into the possesion of 3 different ablums of pennies 2 of which are american. the first is from1909-1940 (least complete missing 40+ different ones) the second is from 1941-1980 (fully complete except a 1949-s) the third is canadian small cent (missing 1921-1927,29,30,34,35) reguarding the first 2 should i check for anything valuable/insure it?? any help would be great as do not know my american pricing at all lol
The first folder could contain a number of valuable coins. There are several key and semi-key Lincoln cents between 1909-1940. Here are some of the highlights: Key Coins 1909-S VDB 1909-S 1914-D 1922 No D 1931-S Semi-Key 1911-S 1912-S 1914-S 1922 1924-D In the second folder, those coins are typically pretty common. But, there are a couple varieties and errors in that period. I doubt you'll find any of those in a folder...but it never hurts to look. So, here are those: 1944-D D over S 1946-S S over D 1955 DDO (probably the coolest DDO ever)
well seems to be that i only have one of those its the 1922 no D coin any realy value or just very uncommon 2 find?
To those who consider the 22 no-D to be collectable, it is very valuable. The Red Book values it in Good at $600 (or only $35 in Good if it's 'just' a weak-D). I would consider it to be an error variety and wouldn't include it in my main collection. Not that I wouldn't take one if I found one but I have several other filled-die coins that I'd put it with. I'd use its 'value' to trade for other coins I might be missing.
Darkfenix, The 1922 *No D* is a valuable coin if it is authentic. Before you make any decisions about whether or not to save it please take it to a reputable dealer or coin expert to have it authenticated. If this is indeed a 1922 *No* D, then it might be worth from 600.00 to 30K, depending on its authentication and condition. Check in this forum for the thread that is titled "Budgood Bag find of the decade", where my recently found 1922 No D is pictured, so you can have a better idea of what the 1922 No D is suppose to look like. And, by the way, CONGRATULATIONS on the find! jeankay
