    Hello,

I recently buy this coin on ebay and I'm not sure that is real:

    1. Weight is 12.41 grams - Krause says 13.08
    2. Diameter is 30 mm
    3. it not sound like silver
    4. non magnetic
    5. I paid for him 33$

What do you think is it real or fake?

I don't see anything to make me think its fake.

I don't either. Does the weight bother you Matt, or is this a normal variance for this type of coin?

Style is OK, but weight variance from the norm sees a little too high.
Check the edge design: it should be a chained link design. Maybe it was filed away a little.

I'm not quite sure of the normal variance in these... But to me it's close enough... It could have been clipped or shaved... Or it could just be light.

Can you post a picture of the edge / side of the coin Monarch?

but I make ping test and I'm sure that this coin have little silver in it. Is it possible that the silver content is less? And the coin have little rust .

Napoleonic wars were raging at time, perhaps they tried to stretch the silver a bit.

Looks like a fake, the number "2" in 2/3 isn't even close to being the correct shape. See Krause. 99% sure it's a counterfeit.

You'd be returning a genuine coin. These dies were all slightly different. I'd happily own that one.

I would buy that coin any day of the week, and $33 is a good price in my opinion.
