I found this coin recently...and I have no idea whatsoever about coins. I was wondering if it is even worth anything at all. I read a little about them and they were started minting in 1908...and my coin is a 1908. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me an estimate...if anything...tell me if I should even keep it. I would say it is in very good shape for being from 1908. You can tell it has been handled...because is smoothed out just a bit...and there is a slight scratch on the back side up by the eagle head. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Please let me know anything about my coin....thank you.
your coin contains 0.12094 troy ounces of gold, so with gold at about $446/oz. that means your coin is worth at least $54. It probably is worth more than that, but we would need to know the grade of the coin (in a much more definitive form than "looks pretty good for its age"). The best is to see the coin in person, so I recommend taking it to a dealer and asking if s/he would give you a guess as to its grade. The other option is to post good photos of the front and the back and we can guess at the grade. (Gold coins and especially Indian Head gold coins are notoriously difficult to grade from a photo, so the dealer is a better option.)
