Ok, I sent in the following while at the Santa Clara coin show in November: - 1909 IHC - 1909 VDB - Did the Homer Simpson "D'OH" after sending this one in as it had a corrosion mark on it... Definate body bag here. - 1941 Lincoln - The last 1 was weakly struck. Possible body bag here. - 1887 IHC - 1886 PL Morgan - 1899 Quarter Eagle - Lots of "IT'S A FAKE" people here on this one. Yes, the coin was pourous and I wanted to be sure. Possible body bag here. - 1903 Quarter Eagle - 1908 No Motto Saint And the results (as these shipped today).... FOUR BODY BAGS. 1909 IHC - VF30 :thumb: 1908 No Motto Saint - MS64 (SCORE!) :thumb: 1903 Quarter Eagle - AU58 (grrr... low ballers!) 1886 Morgan - MS62 PL (grrr... low ballers!) dd: 1909 VDB - yeah, saw that one coming... "D'OH!" 1941 Lincoln - "Damage or ToolingRD" The last 1 was weakly struck!!!! Alright, I get you now PCGS. My bad. 1899 Quarter Eagle - "Not Genuine" Yes, when comparing it to my 1903, you can see a big difference. I just wanted to be sure here. And the one that floored me, the 1887 IHC - "Altered SurfaceRB" Someone is smoking something here. At most I expected 3 body bags. 1 was a "I totally should not have sent that coin in, my bad", 1 was me needing to be 100% sure the gold coin was legit, and the 1941 was me playing around, but the 1887... The 1887's result seriously bugs me. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Hey, now I have a fake quarter eagle to compare others to. Live and learn! Now the question is, do I send all these body bagged coins to ANACS for grading or what? :goofer:
Vroomer: On that fake gold, if you know the dealer well, and he/she is reputable, they should take it back. Still, it is still worth the gold content.
