Hi everyone, @mikediamond has done an article on this issue. This is going to be the next craze in error/variety searching.. Ebay item.. Let's see who finds one first.. Have fun!
LOL no thanks, for that price a new car sounds more realistic and (normal)if I find one I'll be rich though!!!let the hunt begin.
There's already a bunch of them sold apparently @Amberlarry22 keep an eye out for theselet me know when you find 100 in a day,new coins might not be so bad as you thought.
Yes, no luck with 2023 Cents yet, seen Quarters and Nickels. None here in Northern Michigan! Been asking! I knew about this a month ago!
Yea ms67 sold for a little over 500+$ So assuming the original finder of the extra “v” put the ms68 listing up for so much bc it’s like a flex kinda and just to show he has one that’s graded so high but doesn’t want it sell for not a good amount of money. He knows he won’t get 30k for it or even close lol. High grade and extra “v”. I was able to get 2 extra v’s one for 20 bucks and another free. I’ll attach a ms67 below he could get 600 or 1k for the 68 if someone offers with in the range who knows. also this seller is the originally finder so he has for sure 100+ extra “v”s bc of the box being all 2023 Pennie’s. (It’s like a 2021 box of Pennie’s I got and I had over 100 strike thrus with the X-ray eyes so it is fact) there has to be a few mor boxes out there like that for the 2023 extra v.
It doesn’t look like it was placed there by the mint and it looks more like a Y than a V to me. This will start another craze.
I think we can "make" another letter if we wanted to. I just can't believe the Mint put the character on the coin, if so, it had to be an accident.
Not I!!! If it lands in my hand so be it like I said to paddy. Appreciate the info but I cannot get into the shield cents. Couple of the tellers at my bank will probably see them lol!
Come on man. If a newbie posted that here, they'd get laughed off the page and label it PMD. I have not yet read any of the articles, but can't believe that was done at the mint, other than by a mint employee with too much time on their hands. Just shows those that poo-poo finding a $$$ making undiscovered error, are wrong. Me included. The fact that someone paid that much for one, has me doubting TPG altogether. Like the saying goes, "there's one born every minute."
I said it doesn’t look like it was placed there by the mint earlier. But I just remembered the Quarter with High and Low leaf varieties. The Mint didn’t place them there either but rather a disgruntled Mint employee did. As I recall the Mint employee was angry about something and they scratched two of the dies with something sharp which created the Low and the High Leaf varieties. Maybe this is something along the same line. But if you look at the VDB initials and the V to the right, to me, they don’t even look the same.
