Hi all, I wanted to share my latest Mint Error acquisition - It is a 1906 Indian Head Cent Curved Clip at 8:00 Fine Details - Reverse Damage (I don't see it) Enjoy
Maybe he can't even see the coin because it is pretty hard to see especially if you are looking at this thread outside. haha. At first glance it looks like it's just an NGC coin case haha
@paddyman98 What is that tiny mark on the rim at about 2 o'clock on the reverse? FWIW, this brings to mind an issue that we discussed on the NGC forums just about the time that they introduced their pronged holder. If I recall, someone complained about getting a Details Grade, and it happened to be rim damage that was partly obscured by one of the prongs. I've always thought that NGC should employ a second configuration with the prongs at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock just for these situations. Do you remember that discussion, @ldhair ? Chris
Sorry about the pictures I posted. They are from the NGC website. It's hard to take my own picture especially when the Cent is so Brown! Here is another -
I'm not complaining haha I too wanna know what the question marks we're for. But that's pretty cool. How did you find that?
Paddyman98 are you aware that there are 76 varieties for the 1906 IHC? That includes mpd, rpd,ddo ddr, and a host of others. Indianvarieties.com have a look.
That was a crazy thread. The guy had to crack the slab to figure it out. You could not see the damage. Looks like we could not see the damage on this coin because of the images. I hate trying to image coins in NGC holders. I'm getting better at it but there is something about the plastic and the lighting that make it tough for me.
polarized light sources and polarized filter over your lens means you own it you want to be able to index filters on lights and lens of course
