1999P quarter

    image.jpg image.jpg The # 1 of the date 1787 is missing. I think it's called a fill error. Are errors like this worth keeping. I've seen the IN GOD WE RUST quarters sell for a lot, same type of error isn't it? image.jpg

    Yes, struck with a grease filled die. I don't think it has any value over face, but they are cool.

    Flatten those staples! If left rounded like that, the tend to scratch the other coins they are stored with.

    Coins produced from grease-filled dies are very common, and people who pay ridiculous premiums for these coins are bidiots.

    Agree with everyone else here. Kind of interesting. I may keep it in my odds and ends stuff if I found it. I don't see it being worth over face though. I have found a few "In God We Rust" Kansas quarters. Not sure why there is such a huge hype over them though.

    BTW - In my 31 years of life I don't think I've ever seen purple staples...The world is an amazing place...lol
