1999p 10c struck thru hair?

    Sorry for the pics, dimes give me the most trouble. Though rather circulated, this coin looks to have had a small piece of debris on it during striking. Not seeing any metal displacement but not experienced at all in strike thrus. Anyone able to confirm or deny? thanks!

    I believe I do see some metal displacement (crater effect) on the south side in the first two photos.

    I've never seen a hair that thick. Maybe it was from a porcupine that went on a tour of the Mint.

    That's from a giraffe hair. It's silly to think the Mint doesn't lets porcupines in.

    No doubt its a metal shaving of some type. I doubt that its a hair since the "hair" would have to be hard enough to displace the metal of the planchet and Nickel is really, really hard.

    I think it's a strike through. It looks similiar to a Kennedy I found. Wire brush bristle maybe.
