It was a bad day in bedrock - went to the coin store and every thing was picked over and not a coin for me to buy. So I bought a couple of whitman books to fill with change. So pop open a change jar and sort it out. No need to search dimes or quarters since I do not collect them. So I break a pile into nickels and pennies for searching. This is a couple of snapshots of the very second nickel I looked at. I think(if my searching is correct) that this is Die deterioration doubling. Can someone confirm it? And yes it is on both obverse and reverse. The only one I am not sure about is the dome. It almost looks like RIB and NIT run together.

Not sure how common it is, but I just really thought it was cool. I am way to tired to take a picture of the whole coin - it is so cool I am putting it in an airtite. See how easy I am to entertain at times. Enjoy. :)

    yes, die deterioration doubling.

    No, not valuable, or rare.

    No, no premium.

But still an excellent learning tool.

First one of these I have seen - just thought it was cool. It appears the whole die was wore down - will make for a good conversation piece.
