Please help to identify this error (s), Is DDR o Double strike; any way in the oberse also LIBERTY seem double. Thank again for your time.
The first pic appears to be a die chip or gas bubbles the second pic is a die chip the third is a die scratch and there is a posiblity the liberty is doubled ,but I can't make a finale judment on that, better pics are needed for the obverse of the coin /show me more elements of the obverse then i could make a finale conclusion The L and I in liberty do look interesting to me a possible obverse doubled die the reverse has no doubling at all. jazzcoins joe
First I thought it was a damaged coin, but then I discovered all those differences. There's the total oberse and reverse. Thank again for your time. Look at the heavy mustache too.
No doubled die Carlos on liberty ,but what's on the Mustach is an interior die break it happens to be a nice size if you were to sell it on ebay you may get 3 to 5 bucks for it even through it;s not considerd an error but it's a nice placed break .I would keep it an put it aside The reverse has some abnormalities also, it;s a good coin to keep for referance too ,and learn from. The beard would look like a blob if it was in a later die state so die cracks I believe are out of the question. Post mint damage.
Post mint damage?... Who, out of the mint can take off little portions of Lincoln's bird and placed these in other location of the same coin?
Hi, This coin is loaded with extraneous damage and signs of corrosion. It's a one cent, cent. Nothing doubled. There is an outside chance that there are a few die chips rather than plating bubbles but the coin is such a wreck it really makes very little difference. Thanks, Bill
IF THIS IS A POST MINT DAMAGE. It's nice to imagine how this step was moved to the left and above the fence.
That looks like a big hit no importance with this coin that is outside circulation damage post mint damage as foundinrolls said the coin is badly damaged. jazzcoins Joe
pareidolia - the tendency to interpret random shapes as familiar images People often see the image of Jesus or Mary in a piece of toast or a water stain on a wall. If you stare at the minute details of a coin long enough you may see things that are not there.
lol that's apparently what I was doing with my two cent piece... even though I SWEAR there's a 5 or 3 or 8 on the shield, it probably isn't there. no worries, it's still nice to get excited from time to time and to realize our mistakes.
Carlos, You attack these from the opposite direction. You should ask... IF THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED AT THE MINT, how was the step moved to the left and above the fence? The answer would need a knowledge of the minting process that you are still learning about. The answer is that it couldn't happen at the Mint unless it was damaged in transit after the strike. In any case, it's damage and since the coin is circulated, the damage likely occurred outside the Mint. Thanks, Bill
I accept this cent has a lot of scratches and no premium, but is something nice, to see those clear spots at the bird; and then little portions of (hair shaped) in other different areas of the same surface. Right now I'm inspecting again the cent with a bigger magnifier and yes the second pics look more scratches than extra material. You are all right. Thank.
