1999-D Nickel 80-85 degree CW rotation

    Wondering what the premium is on a 1999-D 80 to 85 degree rotation in F-XF ? please and thank you.

    Dunno but a gut feeling tells me it's not too common these days. I'd keep it and hope for better answers.

    Actually, coin shop said AU but downgrade to XF because of chatter. They also said not worth alot, but not very up on error coins. Gonna post it in nickel forum. Thanks Clembo.

    There may be others, but I confess I haven't kept track of them. Rotated die errors occur in most years in most denominations. A rotation of this magnitude is rare, to be sure. Given a grade of XF-AU, I'd estimate its value at $60.

    Pretty happy with that! Will continue roll searches for sure with more attention to rotation. Just a fluke that I noticed this one.

    It was my 4th or 5th string and son box (of nickels). Kind of addicted to roll searching.

    Thats a nice premium man. I love having an error coin expert in this forum. I've seeked his advice more than once let me tell you...
