1999 D 1c Lincoln PMD?

    Umm....I have seen coins damaged by the elements but nothing like this. Was it given an acid bath or sanded somehow and would that account for Lincoln having a Jimmy Durante nose job?
    Second question is the doubling especially on E Pluribus Unum. Is it MD, DD or as the word Liberty shows DDD or something worse? I am so confused and need help as to what is going on with this coin.

    All plating damage. Exposed inner zinc.
    No mint errors or doubling.

    PMD and an excellent poster child for why the mint should have never chosen plated zinc to mint the cent. Also the reason I never bother to look at them.
