I know that this is Bullion, But I wanted to share with the board. Picked it up today, I just love it when a coin talks to me. The toning on this one screamed at me:mouth:. I could not quit going back and looking at it. All the other Eagles I have are Blast White. They are cool, but I think the toning gives this one character. Terry
While today these coins are considered bullion, one day the series will end and these coins will very likely take on a numismatic appeal. Condition will matter to those who collect them. To be sure, the series will end, and values may begin to increase as the supply of new coins ceases, the mintages are known, and people start to collect them. The numismatic premium could be significant for nice toned coins if toners are still in fashion at some later date, that is, if ASE bullion toners are not already sought for more than bullion investment. They're great coins and I'd hang onto the one you have for this future potential. Incidentally, from time to time Provident Metals sells 'off-quality' ASEs (currently out of stock due to the demand with metals price dips), but these off quality coins tend to have character: tone, spots, bag marks... yet they are cheaper than new blast white silver eagles. Something to think about.
They have competitive prices to other online bullion dealers and ship quick and secure. I was impressed with a recent order that was my first and also a trial run, rec'd 4 days after placing the order. :thumb:
Kinda ugly toning, but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.... Some ASE's have some beautiful toning, they just got some funky patterns going on, probably AT. I'd be willing to bet you have an NT coin though. Nice pickup, hope you didn't pay too much
