1998 P quarter. Post mint error?

    Post mint errors aren't a thing. Post mint *damage* is a thing, which is what this is, but calling it an "error" is like calling a car that you took a sledge hammer to a "factory defect."

    Yep, looks like extreme heat or acid spill after spending some time in the ground...

    just curious if it had a copper core. I got a "counterfeit" 1990's era quarter that looked like it was made in some ones garage that looked ALOT like this. it was porous and looked like pewter, no Copper core of course. I destroyed it.
