Not sure what I have here, can someone pls tell me if you know what my error is, thanks. The word America if on the edge of the obverse. I took a photo of it upside down to so you can see the word america.
Looks like the obverse rim has an incuse impression of another coin. Damaged by chance or on purpose. I’ve seen a few of these during CRH events.
If you're referring to what looks like bits of letters in the rim, someone smacked another coin into it. The letters appear to be backwards, which is what would cause that. @Kevin Mader you beat me to it.
I can't even find that , the N in ONE looks convincing. Make me think of a corroded coin sitting stacked on this one
AMERICA IS NOT ON FACE OF THE COIN, THATS WHY i DONT THINK SOMEONE TAMPERED WITH IT, ITS TO PERFECT THE LETTERING AND HAVE THE LETTERS REVERSED
Salvatore…listen to us: it’s not an error coin. Only the person who did the vise job could tell you why and how he did it to end up with the result you found. The letters of AMERICA on the obverse are incuse and backward. The coin has die deterioration, stains and corrosion. What you are showing us is PMD on a coin made using a worn out, overused die.
Salvatore - note the lettering on your rim is pressed into the rim, not raised. If it were an error it would be raised. Look here: https://www.error-ref.com/rim-restricted_design_duplication/
