Still quite new to the whole error searching but I have a coin jar with over $300 in it so I figured I'd start searching. Tho I have found some "maybes" this one has caught my eye enough to make me join and ask. Is it possible these are die Cracks? Or just a bunch of scratches?
They look like scratches to me because they look cut into the surface. Cracks sit on top of the surface; they're raised from the surface, not cut into it, as here.
First, welcome to the neighborhood @TMESS ! Although I agree with eddie that these are scratches on the coin, it is also important for you to realize that die cracks are very common and are rarely worth much more than face value. Chris
I agree, looks like scratches. Go to variety errors.com. He has all the errors, including die cracks. He magnifies them a great deal, so you can see them.
