Hey Guys, looking for some advice on this one, picked up a box today and pulled this one out. It seems to be missing a clad layer, possibly damaged, I say that because I see traces of what might have been a clad layer at some point, I've just never seen one like this. Its all copper all around besides a few spots on the rim. I'm not an expert so I would love some opinions. Thanks, Steve
Missing Clad layer usually only happens on one side of a Clad Coin. Here are a few examples from my collection - The other side of these coins look normal.
Here you go, Stephen! I found this one in a $100 Mixed 2001 P&D bag that I bought from the US Mint. It is one of only two known for that year, and it cost me a whopping 68c. Chris
