1997 nickel with strange mintmark

    Anyone have any idea whats going on here? Hard to get a good picture of this.

    Well I have looked at a couple more 97 nickels and they all seem to have this strange mintmark. So this must be common. Surprising nobody replied to this.

    It appears that this Mint mark punch may have been damaged.
