Are we thinking that this is a die clash? I couldn't find anything on the '97 one cent pieces having this same mark. Would love some input!

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi, Ben!

Why did you think it might have been a clash? If it were, there would have to be some element of the reverse design that would correspond to it. Remember, the reverse is positioned upside down to the obverse, so the element needed to create the clash would have to come from the upper right quadrant of the reverse.

Well I was reading about the 1993 clash and it had a mark similar to my coin but not exact. After you mentioned that I feel silly asking the question.... But thank you for informing me! I'm a novice coin collector and I have lots of questions. So I appreciate you being kind and giving advice!

    Thanks,
    Ben

You needn't feel silly. It isn't expected that a novice collector will have an understanding of such things. The more questions you ask and the more you read, the more you will learn.
