Don't mind James, he's always speechless! As for your toonie, I wasn't aware of any proofs for the run. Some of the "intended for circulation" strikes exhibit what they call specimen proofs or finishes. Which will appear mirror prooflike.
Yes, more than likely lol. The Toonies are such a young series of coins that none of the years have a huge price value on them. You want some collecting power, try collecting some of the older silver, especially pre-55 key dates. And since you are in Nova Scotia, collect some of the Nova Scotia large cents from the late 1800's. The Victoria cents provide lots of bang for the buck, often you won't spend $10-20 for nice pieces.
