    It is a common problem with zincoln cents. The pressure of the strike causes the copper coating to move adjacent to the devices. If you look at your coin the plating is moving in different directions. Date is moving right, Liberty is moving left.

    Boy, I hate it when my high hopes are deflated, so I hope you aren't too disappointed.
    Since late 1982, the Zincoln, or copper plated zinc cent has been a disaster and giving the coin collecting world a real work out.
    Remember, that the Zincolns are plated in copper, not clad, so the thin layer of copper material can do funny things when stamped with the dies.

    Sorry but it’s just from a worn die. Those copper coated zinc cents are horrible. Just so many things that cause a doubled effect.
