I have a 1996 p quarter with a die chip right after the Y in liberty

I can't tell what it is from this image. Can you crop out the unnecessary background and resize the image before you post it here using the "Full Image" option? The "Thumbnail" option sucks.

Not a die clip. A clipis when part of the edge is missing. It is a die chip. Part of the Die broke off and when it's used to strike a planchet it leaves a bump like yours.

@Collecting Nut He said Die Chip. It's always best to finish your first cup of coffee before answering posts. I have a bad habit of doing that, too. ;)

I stand corrected. Thank you @Oldhoopster I'd swear that said clip. PS, I can't stand the taste of coffee.

Nope, I don't drink anything with alcohol. Never even tasted a beer. :)

Does it hold any premium value? Or just 25¢ lol

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Personally, it's only worth 25c to me.

Nice find. Just keep in mind the more prominent the die chip, the more people will be willing to pay.
