    Hi guys, I tried using this quarter in a machine that takes change to purchase
    something, and the machine would not take it....It was too thick to go into the
    slot.....I took it home and measured it ( 2.08mm ) and noticed that there is
    no "ribs" on the edge...Also as you can see, there is a split of the copper and
    silver on the edge....What do you think?

    @SmokinJoe
    It was probably "spooned" which removes the reeded edge while making the coin thicker at the same time. I'm guessing that someone started on a project to make a ring, and decided it was too much work.

    It doesn't look spooned to me but I can't describe what happened to it.

    It must be PMD, it can't be struck with full details, and no reeding.
