This is one of the coolest die cracks that I've found. It starts at the rim above the W in WE. It travels vertically, through the head, to the bottom of Lincoln's earlobe. A second crack intersects at, close to, the midpoint. It travels ESE a short distance leaving a nice chip in it's wake. It then begins to curve downward, along the forehead, to the eyebrow. It then curves around the back of the eye, and down the cheek to where the nose attaches to the face. It leaves another nice, tear-like die chip on the cheek. One of the coolest things I have noticed is, the metal to the west of the arching crack on the forehead is slightly higher than the east side. This is indicated with the red arrows. It reminds me of the vertical displacementyou look for in a retained cud. I love the chip that makes Lincoln look like he is crying. Hope you guys enjoy.
I think it is a "Bi-Level Die Crack". I just read this on error-ref.com and it describes this coin. It is no where near as dramatic as the one on the site, but it describes what I am seeing. Here is a pic of mine and the link: http://www.error-ref.com/Bi-level_die_cracks_.html
