Has anyone ever heard of the post 82 Lincoln's with the copper coating missing from the Cu. Coated Zn. Composition?
Huh? Do you mean missing copper plating? Yes.. There are plenty of such examples. But clear pictures would help to determine if the issue occurred at the US Mint or if it was altered.
You are correct.. I was just trying to keep it simple. I thought someone would explain it better. You did it!
Ok, ok here are a couple of pictures. Is the 43 steel cent not the ugliest coin ever after being circulated? Yuck. If the color is off.... Well I am colorblind. Anyway be gentle.
Yes they could, and they did. And the mint employees missed them to. As to your 1996 coin, it will be hard to prove that the plating was not removed post-mint. The 1943 LWC can be some ugly, and most of them are these days, which makes them even nicer to find in uncirculated condition.
Meaning 25 years isn't old enough to get in this condition ? Or people today are alot better catching mistakes? Or ????. Please clarify.
