1996 D Rotated die

    I just got a scale and weighed the coin, it was 10.6 and all my other half dollars were 11.2 and 11.3 so in disappointment, I dropped the coin and it sounded hollow of all things, to my surprise it IS. I couldn't stop until I had it opened

    Bonnie, this is what is often referred to as a "magician's coin".

    Nice. A machined Kennedy! They use them for magic tricks sold at magic and gaff shops. Looks like the trick were you show the Mexican coin then cover it up with the Obverse Kennedy and it slips into the Reverse making the Mexican coin disappear! Kool trick. It's called the SCOTCH and SODA trick. Google it and you will see videos on how it's performed!
