Ok this one caught my eye because it was very shinny and somewhat of a different color, maybe because it is sooooo shinny. The details also caugtc my eye because they are nothing like I've seen on a 1996 . The sheen and details are incredible obverse and reverse for a business strike, however does show some normal coating problems. Also measures 1.62 mm thick ? (At edge)
It is in good shape for a 22 year old coin, and well struck. I assume you mean shiny? Shinny is a sort of hockey game. Maybe someone had a stash of mint coins and eventually dumped them into circulation.
With billions of these zinc cents produced, I think it would really have to be something dramatic to be worth more than .01 cent.
True hadn't thought of it that way ! It was just in such good shape ! I'll put it away for the grandkids !
Most of the modern Lincolns that I keep that are in great condition are copper. I do have a couple of zincs, but they just deteriorate so quickly. Post a photo of the same coin in 10 years and lets see what the luster looks like then.
Alot of the pics I look at of doubling resemble the pic I posted above, in the WE the bottom of the W looks doubled !
