Found this sitting on a Coinstar, figure it got rejected several times and the person left it. Coin has a uniform gap in the edge all the way around the edge. Depth of gap is about 1 millimeter. Any ideas what caused this? Thanks. 361C77D7-25EF-40BD-A1BE-267F15BB73A7.jpeg 115E4093-7F95-45FB-9B3A-E245AF3265E6.jpeg A992E0E4-A09C-4B62-9B77-E577DCBEA640.jpeg 86FF743D-AD75-467C-AAA2-3625FC56FF69.jpeg

It's not unusual to see this on clad coins. The copper core is eaten away, chemically.

And the weight reduction from the chemical corrosion is probably the reason why the machine rejected it.
