1996 D cent, Lincoln with a mole.

    Lincolns are great for that. I have a 1953S with a break on the nose that looks like a big wart.

    Out of all the pennies I've seen, this is the first one I've seen it on. Is it common to find them on pennies?

    I don't see it in later dates, that I look
    at so far. I don't know if its a design
    change or a die break. If it was a design change why doesn't it appear on later dates?

    Shows up better on the different dates I have seen it on. You can still see it on this 2001 D example [​IMG]

    Okay, I didn't know they changed
    the design except to make his beard look like a garden. Actually, I didn't know
    that was a mole either that we see in photos. I always thought that was part of a knife scar.
