Yes... I am a "newbie" as I am quite often so rudely told. If you are annoyed, move on! If you, however, want to politely tell me this is not of interest to anyone else and then constructively explain why, you will have my complete gratitude. What I would like to know is... Is this doubled die or not? Thanks so much.

Jeff, …this is all die deterioration. You have to keep in perspective these are Zincolns and the Mint overused the dies.

Now, having said that, the overall condition of the coin is very good, still a Red and no egregious defects. You like the coin, put it in a flip. Just admit the obvious flaws it has inherently. There may be a touch of MD on the Reverse coupled to the deterioration…Spark

Hey Jeff! I see Die deterioration doubling. According to Variety Vista, the doubling for this year anyways, occurs with something having to do with the columns???

I agree with Die Deterioration Damage . I believe the publication teams that publish these reference books rush to get them in first , as the ones most new explorers like are those that list everything , questionable or not.

Education as to cause and recognition will eventually be more useful for determining varieties which agree with theory. IMO, Jim

I imagine you've been shown this link before, but I will include it here again.

It takes a while to "see" the differences of all the possible doubling, but when it looks, "flat and shelve-like" it is usually die deterioration, so "worthless doubling."
    Good luck.
