    That's not a DDO. It's an alteration to the copper plating which affected the numerals and lettering.

    I was thinking maybe it was some machine doubling, but a coin thats been around like this one it could be anything I suppose.

    Not a doubled die. Die wear and copper plating on a zinc planchet caused that.
